What we are
Democratys is an independent educational charitable incorporated organisation, registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales under registered charity number 1203611. We exist to promote public understanding of the UK’s democratic processes — and of how those processes can be interfered with to the detriment of the public.
What we do
We work through research, public education, expert collaboration and the dissemination of evidence-led analysis. The majority of our research findings are made publicly available — through published reports, our podcast, public events, lectures and seminars.
We are a neutral, non-partisan organisation. Rigorous safeguards are in place to ensure the objectivity of our research and the independence of our voice.
How we are governed
Democratys is governed by an independent Board of Trustees drawn from law, politics and media. The Board sets the strategy for the organisation and is accountable for its compliance and oversight.
Our annual accounts and trustee reports are filed with the Charity Commission and are available on request.
